Campaign Palace Taps Collins as Nat’l Chief Creative Officer

Reed Collins is heading home to his native Australia to become national chief creative officer at The Campaign Palace.

Collins, 35, most recently was a creative director at Leo Burnett in Chicago, where he worked on new business pitches and clients such as McDonald’s, Kellogg’s and Procter & Gamble. He spent more than eight years at the Publicis Groupe shop.

At The Campaign Palace, a unit of WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam Brands, Collins will partner with executive chairman Mark Mackay. The new CCO will based in Sydney and oversee creatives in Sydney and Melbourne. He starts next month.

“Reed is probably one of the most talented creatives I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with,” said Y&R global CCO Tony Granger, a former colleague at TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris in Johannesburg, South Africa. “He commands loyalty. People like working with him and they know that he’s going to make the work smarter.”

Granger also cited Collins’ experience in an array of client categories and his “wicked sense of humor.”

Before Burnett, Collins worked at Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York (on clients like Fox Sports, Staples and Hollywood Video) and Lowe Howard-Spink in London (Stella Artois, Olympus).

The CCO position at The Campaign Palace is new. The agency’s clients include Panasonic, Target, Bayer and Bonds clothes.
