Burris has added The Golf Channel to its client roster, winning a series of project assignments for the cable television outlet that reaches 25 million homes.
Burris is working on a project to promote viewership during The Golf Channel’s nearly three weeks of coverage before, during and after the U.S. Open in June. Later in the year, the Greensboro, N.C., shop will work on a similar assignment for the Orlando, Fla.-based network, promoting coverage of the PGA championship.
“The Golf Channel started out as a novelty, a place to go for wild golf enthusiasts when the networks weren’t covering anything,” said agency principal Mark Burris. “Today it offers a broad set of programming for golfers of all types.”
Separately, the agency has launched a new campaign for longtime client Club Car and promoted senior writer LeAnn Wilson McGuire to creative director.
In keeping with the shop’s penchant for unique titles, hers will be “Excelerator,” a nod, McGuire says, to the “pace and motivational requirements of the creative function these days.”
