CHICAGO – Leo Burnett is laying off about 50 employees between now and the end of the month, sources said. The cuts represent approximately 2 percent to 3 percent of the agency’s staff.

The layoffs at the Bcom3 Group unit follow a cut of about 200 employees in February. Agency executives attributed those reductions to a need to stay ahead of an expected economic slowdown.

An agency representative could not immediately be reached for comment about the latest layoffs.
