Burk to Lead Creative at Cornerstone

ATLANTA Cornerstone said it has hired John F. Burk as creative director, replacing John Phelan, who left the shop this fall.

Burk, 60, had been operating his own shop, John F. Burk Design & Creative Services, since 1998 before joining the independent Baltimore agency. At Cornerstone, he will direct the shop’s eight-person creative team.

Burk has been in the advertising business for 40 years, beginning as an art director for the former VanSant Dugdale & Co. He also has worked as senior art director for the former Richardson Myers & Donofrio, co-creative director for the former Evans/McLaughlin and executive art director for the former Gray Kirk & Evans.
