Burger King, which broke new fast food ground with the Impossible Whopper two years ago, will be the first global chain to add the plant-based company’s chicken-less chicken nuggets to its menu.

The product—which will test initially in Boston, Miami and Des Moines, Iowa—launched in September at select high-end chef-driven eateries and a few regional restaurants ahead of its retail rollout.

Impossible Nuggets will be available beginning Oct. 11 in an eight-piece order, which Ellie Doty, BK’s CMO called “only fitting” given the history between the two companies and the success that followed.

Burger King caused a stir back in 2019 when the chain introduced the Impossible Whopper on April 1 with a stunt that substituted the meatless burgers in place of the flagship sandwich and fed them to consumers without telling them about the swap.
