Agencies wanting to pursue the $2.5 million Buncombe County (N.C.) Tourism Development Authority had to return the request for proposals by today. The area covered includes Ashville, N.C., site of the Biltmore House, a popular tourist attraction in the Southeast.
Angie Briggs, interim executive director of the tourism authority, said 50 questionnaires were mailed.
Briggs said the client’s desire is to narrow the hopefuls to a “handful” by June 15 and schedule agency visits. She added that the finalists would receive an assignment.
