Brann Adds Barclays, Staffs Up

BOSTON Brann Worldwide has added interactive marketing chores for Barclays Global Investors and hired two senior staffers to work on the account.

The Havas shop’s San Francisco office will fashion e-mail ads and Web banners for Barclays. The goal for both will be lead generation for various client products and services, according to James Hipkin, president of the 60-person office. The budget was not disclosed for the crosstown client, which Brann said it added following a review.

Brann has hired Marusa Debrini as vice president, associate creative director and Gordon Abel as account director to work on Barclays, as well as on the agency’s Wells Fargo Online Bank account, which it added since last summer.

Debrini joins from Omnicom i-shop Organic, San Fransisco, where as a creative director she developed campaigns for Nike, Starbucks, Virgin Mobile and The Home Depot. Abel most recently served as a consultant to Barclays, where he developed an e-marketing and CRM program for its iShares product. He has also served in interactive account positions at SF Interactive and Ignite Multimedia Studio.
