BOSTON–TFA/Leo Burnett Technology Group has launched its first ads for 3-month-old e-business consultancy CMGI Solutions, targeting company owners trying to compete in the Internet age.
Print ads for CMGI Solutions feature the tagline, “Building Net business,” and will run through July in magazines including BusinessWeek and Fortune. One ad asks, “Now that you’ve spent years and years building your business, are you going to let some Internet startup come in and take all your customers?”
TFA was assigned the $3-5 million CMGI Solutions account last summer without a review by parent firm CMGI, Andover, Mass., said agency president Jeffrey Winsper. Carat Freeman in Newton, Mass., handles all media buying and planning for CMGI and its affiliated companies.
TFA, Boston, has been CMGI’s agency of record for two years and has created ads for several of its subsidiaries.
CMGI recently announced plans to combine CMGI Solutions with Tallan, a Glastonbury, Conn., Internet services firm.
TFA is agency of record for Tallan and will remain so after the companies combine, Winsper said.
CMGI could not be reached for comment. K
