Client Connection Helps Agency Prevail
SAN FRANCISCO–HealthCentral.com, an online health service and drugstore, has tapped Goldberg Moser O’Neill to handle its advertising account. Billings are estimated at $30 million, according to sources.
The San Francisco shop was chosen after an informal review.
Agency officials said they were drawn to the company because they would again get to work with Robert Cudd, vice president of marketing. Cudd was GMO’s client when he worked at Fatbrain.com.
“Robert Cudd was the champion of the breakthrough work we did at Fatbrain,” GMO chairman and CEO Fred Goldberg said. “We welcome and embrace the opportunity to work with a committed healthcare company.”
HealthCentral.com, launched in August, has numerous features, including routinely updated healthcare information and the online drugstore. The site also operates a software division, Wisdom Health.
The site can be tailored to individual consumers. Users can set up personal health information pages and even get health risk assessments.
The site was founded by national medical personalty Dr. Dean Edell, who hosts a syndicated radio show and a TV program in 50 markets.
The new business is yet another account the agency has picked up due to a connection with a former client executive. GMO snagged accounts at Micronpc.com, Sybase and Photo Alley.com due in part to their work with executives who switched companies.
Meantime, the agency has resigned its account with CVS.com, another healthcare-oriented site.
