Bozell’s Taber Joins Thomas & Perkins

Bob Taber today joins Thomas & Perkins in Denver as senior vice president of account planning.
Taber, 49, previously was senior partner and director of strategic planning at Bozell Worldwide in New York, where he worked on accounts such as Bell Atlantic and Taco Bell. Bozell is currently recruiting to replace him.
“We’re very fortunate to have Bob join us,” said agency president Bryan Thomas. “We happened to be in the right geographic location of where he wanted to be.”
Taber, a native of Idaho, said he was looking to return to the region, and found Thomas & Perkins was the place he wanted to be.
“It’s great to find an agency in a midsized market like Denver that has full integration of advertising, public relations, direct and interactive.” He added that the agency’s representation of national clients, including Pentax, Titan Motorcycles and TCI, is “not typical of a middle-market” shop.
Taber replaces Nancy Long, who left recently to start a consultancy. In addition to account planning, Taber will be actively involved in new business efforts.
“His background is a good match with the things we’re pursuing now,” Thomas said. “I’m excited from the standpoint that he brings a greater world view of his discipline to our agency and our clients.”
Taber has worked at other New York agencies including Ally & Gargano, and also spent time at Dailey & Associates’ former San Francisco office. He has also served as a professor of journalism and is active in the American Advertising Federation.
