BostonWorks Expands Online Offering

BOSTON The online version of The Boston Globe‘s BostonWorks employment section has added a set of tools that could help make the site a regional rival of better-known Internet job-search venues like Monster and Yahoo!’s HotJobs.

The new tools, known collectively as The Job Hunt, can be found in a new section of the site:

The Job Hunt breaks down the job search process into eight categories: planning and research, resumes, networking, interviewing, salaries, career coaching, continuing education and tools, the client said. Each category offers editorial content from the pages of the Globe, as well as supporting information such as research, recommended books, a salary calculator and an upcoming events calendar.

“As Boston’s career mentor, we believe BostonWorks can help make finding a job faster and easier for the job seeker,” said Tim Murphy, general manager of BostonWorks, in a statement. “The goal of The Job Hunt was to bring the information and tools needed for a successful job hunt together at one location, improving the experience for the job seeker.”

The Globe‘s ad agency is Interpublic Group’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos here, which handles promotions for BostonWorks.
