Boston Market Selects Arnold

BOSTON — Arnold has won creative chores on Boston Market’s $35 million account following a review of undisclosed agencies, according to Phyllis Hammond, svp of communications at the client.

“We’re committed to growing the brand and Arnold has a reputation for some innovative, out-of-the-box advertising and integrated marketing campaigns,” said Hammond in naming the Havas-owned agency.

The 650-unit Golden, Colo.-based restaurant chain is a unit of McDonald’s, for which Arnold has long handled franchisee work. Suissa Miller, Los Angles, an Interpublic Group agency that handled Boston Market for six years, did defend, Hammond said.

McDonald’s acquired Boston Market three years ago and has taken steps to trim expenses at the chain, closing about 350 of 1,000 locations. Suissa Miller’s themeline for the chain has been “Slow down.”

The client handles media planning and buying in-house.
