Bunuelitos, a cereal General Mills originally created to target Hispanic consumers, enters the mass-consumption market with a new TV spot from CME-KHBB/Minneapolis breaking today in Texas and Southern California. The spot breaks in Chicago in October. The campaign focuses on teaching kids and adults how to pronounce ‘Bunuelitos,’ which is Anglicized to ‘Boo-new-el-eat-toes.’
The honey-and-cinnamon flavored cereal is based on a traditional Mexican pastry, bunuelos, commonly served on holidays such as Christmas and New Year’s.
