Healthcare marketing agency Abelson-Taylor, which has previously only created advertising directed at medical professionals, has hired the former director of marketing for the state of Illinois Richard Blocki to head up a consumer-targeted practice. In the mid-1990s, Blocki spearheaded Illinois’ tourism efforts, winning a gold Effie in 1996. For the past eight years, he has been running his own shop, R. Blocki & Associates. At A-T, Blocki will be an account director, responsible for developing consumer campaigns for the Chicago shop’s current clients, as well as cultivating new ones.
