Block Leaves COO Post at Fallon

CHICAGO Fallon chief operating officer Eric Block is leaving the agency to pursue other interests, according to the shop. The resignation is effective immediately.

“After 17 rewarding years at Fallon, I’ve accomplished all that I dreamed and more,” Block said in a statement. “I’m proud of the Fallon brand and the deeply talented people behind it and that makes it very difficult to leave. Yet I’m excited about pursuing other interesting opportunities in our industry. I wish the entire Fallon team around the world all the best in the future and am confident they will continue to prosper.”

In a statement, agency chairman Pat Fallon praised Block as a good manager and strategic thinker. He wished Block “good luck and good fortune.”

Block, 46, ascended through the shop’s Minneapolis account ranks. Prior to being named chief operating office in September 2002, Block was general manager of the Minneapolis office. The agency said it would not immediately fill his COO position.
