NEW YORK–Blimpie Subs & Salads has selected Hasan & Co. to handle the advertising review for its estimated $10-15 million account, according to the consultancy’s principal, Hasan Ramusevic.

Ramusevic, formerly of AAR Partners in New York, edged out his former firm, which was also seeking to handle the Blimpie search. Hasan & based in Raleigh, N.C.

Ramusevic said he expects to begin sending out questionnaires in early November and that an agency would be selected in January.

Blimpie announced that it would seek a new agency in September [Adweek, Sept. 10] as it seeks to overhaul its stores for the first time in its 37-year history. The Atlanta-based client’s agency was Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners West in San Francisco, which won the account in 1994. The client is seeking to differentiate its brand message from that of Subway (low-fat) and Quiznos (toasted bread).
