USWeb/CKS laid off 30-35 people at its office here last week, approximately 12 percent of its work force.
Don Maurer, Southeast regional executive for USWeb/CKS, called the action “a restructuring move . . . to make sure the company is operating at its best and full potential.” He said the layoffs were spread across all divisions and included the marketing and advertising units.
One source said several assignments that the Atlanta office of the San Francisco-based firm had tallied, including E-Invest, had smaller budgets than originally expected.
Maurer, without identifying any clients, said several of the firm’s business relationships are “evolving.”
