Big Brother Returns

McKee, Henderson Join McKee Wallwork
DALLAS–McKee Wallwork, Albuquerque, N.M., has installed two new partners–including the brother of president Steve McKee–to stimulate the creative department of the fledgling, one-year-old agency.
McKee Wallwork has added co-creative directors Matt McKee, 37, and Carol Henderson, 38, reported Steve McKee, who last worked with his brother while both were at former Albuquerque shop Strascina & Partners in 1996. The duo assumes creative duties previously handled by Steve McKee.
“We always knew we wanted to grow, and the best way to do that was to get some [creative] heavyweights,” said Steve McKee, 34. McKee founded the shop with media director Pat Wallwork in July 1997.
Henderson, a Minneapolis native, has handled art assignments for Fallon McElligott and Bozell Worldwide in her hometown. She was an associate creative director at Bozell when she left to do freelance work in 1997.
Matt McKee returns to New Mexico after 18 months in Florida and Illinois, first at Fort Lauderdale-based Harris Drury Cohen, followed by a stint at Rhea & Kaiser in Naperville. McKee worked mostly on healthcare accounts at those shops, and left after deciding he wanted “to call my own shots again.”
During his absence from Albuquerque, two shops ceased operations there. Competitive Edge closed in November 1996 and Strascina last fall merged with former crosstown rival Rick Johnson & Co.
Steve McKee remained at Strascina until June 1997, when he resigned after failed buyout discussions with chairman Peter Strascina.
