DDB Needham Worldwide’s spin-off agency Berlin, Wright & Cameron/N.Y. has begun staffing up its cornerstone Volkswagen account and is soon expected to announce its first client not inherited from parent DDB: VH-1 cable TV network.
On VW, BW&C president Tony Wright will function as the lead account person while the dust settles at the new shop. However, moving from DDB to BW&C to run the $70-million account long-term is Ed Hogikyan, who’ll head up the national VW business and DDB vet Al Steiner, who will head up the regional account.
Sources said Mike Rogers and John Staffen, the two DDB staffers who created the current ‘Most loved cars in the world’ campaign, will not be jumping to the new shop, which will look to recruit outside DDB for creatives to work on VW.
