Bell’s TV Debut Honors Armed Forces

DALLAS Bell Helicopter’s first television spot in its 65-year history will premiere during the Armed Forces Bowl this Saturday.

The spot from TM Advertising in Irving, Texas, entitled “Yellow Ribbons,” will play nationally on ESPN. Support will include print, online, out-of-home and in-stadium signage. Yellow ribbons are symbols of support for U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The ad, in 60- and 30-second versions, depicts yellow ribbons in locations ranging from rural roads to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Accompanied by an emotional soundtrack, the spot concludes with the words: “To all those who serve. Thank you.” Bell’s logo then appears on screen.

“We wanted to capture the spirit and sentiment of the country and its support for the Armed Forces, while creating an emotion-evoking spot that highlights the strong relationship Bell has with the men and women in the Armed Forces through its products that support the military,” said Andy Mahr, art director at TM.

The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Bell’s hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, pits the University of Tulsa against the University of Utah.
