Bellina Joins Riney as Creative Director

SAN FRANCISCO Publicis & Hal Riney has hired integrated marketing specialist John Bellina from TBWA\Tequila. He will join the Publicis Groupe shop Monday as creative director and copywriter, an agency representative said.

Bellina served as executive creative director at the New York office of Tequila since May 2002, working with TBWA sister shop Chiat\Day to create integrated campaigns for Nextel, Absolut Vodka, Embassy Suites Hotels, Cunard and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. At Riney, he will work on Hewlett-Packard and new business, focusing on expanding the agency’s integrated marketing capabilities.

In this new position, Bellina will report to George Tannenbaum, senior vice president and group creative director at the San Francisco agency.

Riney executive creative director Kirk Souder said the shop has been attempting to expand its integrated resources group by hiring “just the right person.”

“John is that guy—someone who can set new expectations for creative work being done across every media vehicle, from interactive to TV to direct and everything in between,” Souder said.

In addition to H-P, Riney’s client roster includes Sprint, 24 Hour Fitness, Jamba Juice, Beringer Wines and the San Francisco Opera.
