Bcom3 3Q Revenues Up

CHICAGO — Bcom3 Group posted a 5 percent revenue increase to $456.6 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30, compared with $434.3 million for the same period last year, according to the Chicago-based holding company’s latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

For the first nine months of 2001, Bcom3 posted a revenue jump of nearly 8 percent, to $1.4 billion from $1.3 billion for the nine months of 2000.

The company reported net income of $4.7 million for the quarter and $11.7 million for the first nine months of the year, according to the filing. In comparable periods last year, the company posted a $5.2 million loss for the quarter and a $63 million loss for the first nine months. The losses stemmed from a non-recurring charge related to the merger of the Leo Group and MacManus Group, which formed Bcom3 last year.

Bcom3 is the parent of Leo Burnett and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles.
