Bamboo Finds Its Marketing Specialty

CHICAGO Tapping into a growing niche service known as experiential marketing, three former advertising executives are opening a shop dedicated to that segment called Bamboo Worldwide today.

The Chicago agency’s debut comes at the same time of the Experiential Marketing Summit being held today through Wednesday at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago.

Bamboo will solely provide experimental marketing services, which create engaging experiences that connect with consumers at a personal level and are considered a form of event marketing. These offerings include interactive marketing and seeding, where often famous figures interact with a product that goes beyond standard endorsements.

The company was founded by partners Mike Flynn, former director of field marketing in the Midwest for the launch of Red Bull energy drink, Tracy Thirion, who was regional manager at MarketSource, and Greg Oreskovich, former creative director at J. Walter Thompson, Chicago.

Bamboo currently has four local clients: No Foam Productions, N Tech and two small beverage companies.
