Online equipment retailer b2bstores.com has embarked on a national search for a shop to handle its estimated $12-18 million account.
The startup has contacted agencies of various sizes across the country, said Shannon Jessup, evp of business development, and is in the process of holding chemistry meetings with shops for the new assignment.
Agencies will not be required to make spec creative presentations to the Long Beach, Calif.-based business-to-business product and service supplier, said Jessup, adding the company was looking at shops with a combination of “creative, print-heavy and strategic, [coupled] with interesting media placement.”
“We’d rather go with a smaller shop,” said Jessup, who added the client is still considering some larger agencies as well.
Venture-capital funding for the new company is scheduled to be completed within the next couple of weeks, said Jessup.
