Aunt Jemima Cooks Up Ads

Louis London in St. Louis will back the launch of Aunt Jemima Mini Pancakes and Cinnamon French Toast Sticks with a TV and print campaign featuring the company’s “Breakfast Head” characters.
The ads will break in March on Nickelodeon and in Nickelodeon Magazine, with promotions including a contest to name a new Breakfast Head character. Craig Herron, group product manager at Aunt Jemima marketer VDK Frozen Foods, St. Louis, declined to discuss spending.
VDK, owned by Aurora Foods, last year consolidated ad duties for the product and for Celeste Pizza and the Mrs. Paul’s and Van de Kamp’s lines of frozen fish at Louis London, which had handled promotions only. The previous agency was William Eisner & Associates, Hales Corners, Wis.
