Audi Will Return to the Super Bowl With Creative From Venables Bell & Partners

The brand's ninth ad in the Big Game

Audi will be part of the Big Game’s advertising lineup this year.

The luxury automaker tapped its creative shop, Venables Bell & Partners, to handle the spot, according to Miranda Harper, director of communications, brand and lifestyle for Audi. This year marks Audi’s ninth Super Bowl ad.

It’s unclear what the spot’s narrative will be, how long it will be or when it will appear during the game, as Harper declined to comment further and Venables Bell & Partners referred Adweek to Harper.

The agency was behind last year’s Super Bowl spot from Audi, which featured David Bowie’s 1972 song “Starman.” (The game aired shortly after Bowie’s passing last year.) The ad told the story of a retired astronaut who finally feels a thrill again when he takes a ride in his son’s 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus.

Audi is the third auto brand, after Honda and Kia, to confirm that it will be part of the Super Bowl.
