WASHINGTON, D.C. Attack ads moved to the fore in the final week of the election as the presidential candidates and political interest groups sprint for the finish line.

Sen. John Kerry’s campaign broke a spot today attacking President George W. Bush for making the country less secure by failing to guard 380 tons of missing explosives in Iraq. That ad follows a Bush commercial, released yesterday, that slams Kerry for promoting higher taxes and reckless defense cuts.
