Arnold Assigns Power to Hershey’s

NEW YORK Arnold in New York has hired Lynn Power to lead its $90 million Hershey’s account as senior vice president and group account director. She began work on Oct. 31 and reports to evp Ned Russell.

Power, 38, was most recently svp, group account director on the L’Oreal hair care and hair color business at McCann Erickson in New York, where she worked with Kate Murphy, the Arnold group creative director that recommended her for the post.

While Power has no confection experience—prior to her 11-month stint at McCann, she spent nine years at BBDO as svp, senior account director on AOL and Gillette—the Hershey’s team is steeped in such experience, said Russell. Among others, ecd John Staffen had worked on Hershey at DDB New York.

“I think there’s something to be said for getting a fresh perspective and being able to draw from other experiences you had with different businesses,” said Power. “It’s revitalizing to work on different kinds of accounts.”

Hershey’s tapped Arnold to craft advertising and marketing programs for the Hershey’s, Reese’s, Hershey’s Kisses, Take 5, York and Kit Kat brands in late September. The work had been split between Ogilvy & Mather and Staffen’s alma mater, DDB New York.
