NEW YORK America Online has enlisted the family from the Discovery Channel’s American Chopper reality series for a campaign touting its new “top speed” service, the company said.

Spots from Portland, Ore.-based independent Wieden + Kennedy will break during the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

“Everyone thinks they know about AOL and they think, ‘Oh, that’s not for me,'” said Len Short, executive vice president for brand marketing at the client in Dulles, Va., “We’re trying to re-emerge as a brand.”
