The Minnesota Partnership for Action Against Tobacco this week will hear presentations from four agencies competing for its $5 million advertising account, sources said.

Pitching the account are Minneapolis shops Kruskopf Olson, Clarity Coverdale Fury and North Woods Advertising, and Russell & Herder in Brainerd, Minn., sources said.

The partnership was created in 1998 as part of Minnesota’s settlement with tobacco companies. Unlike the Department of Health’s youth-oriented anti-smoking effort, which is currently handled by Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis, the partnership’s program will target adults.

Presentations are scheduled this week, with a decision expected shortly thereafter.
