Annual Report Only Visible In Sunlight Wins One Show Design

'Solar-powered document' from Serviceplan Gruppe takes Best in Show

Munich-based agency Serviceplan Gruppe took Best in Show at the 2012 One Show Design awards Monday evening, for the Solar Annual Report — a document whose printed contents were only visible under sunlight, created for trade association Austria Solar. 

Among the other gold-pencil winning works: For Browsing Only, a design project repurposing the status of flipped-through books left on store shelves created by Singapore-based Beautiful; Living Masterpiece, a mural made of plants arranged to recreate Van Gogh's A Wheatfield with Cypresses outside the National Gallery in London's Trafalgar Square created by AMV BBDO London for GE; and The Snowflake and the Bubble, a giant 3D light show projected onto the Saks Fifth Avenue during the holiday season by Iris New York for Saks Fifth Avenue.

Germany won the most awards of any country, with 15 total: 4 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze. The U.S. followed with 10: 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze. Brazil also won 10: 2 gold, 1 silver and 7 bronze.
