While the Seattle SuperSonics struggled to advance past the first round of the National Basketball Association playoffs last week, its ad agency was celebrating a championship of its own.
Seattle creative agency WongDoody took home the Grandy, the top award at the 34th annual International Andy Awards in New York, for its season-long campaign supporting the SuperSonics’ NBA season.
The campaign aimed to shed the veneer of stardom and show the players as real people, said Ben Wiener, managing partner and head of the agency’s Santa Monica, Calif.,
