American Stores Co. last week put its short-lived review on hold following
the announcement that Boise, Idaho-based Albertson’s intends to acquire the company.
American Stores representative Judie Decker confirmed that the search for an agency to handle the supermarket chain’s Lucky, Sav-on and combination store operations has been postponed. American Stores must now await “regulatory approval” of the Albertson’s deal, Decker said, before the review can resume. That approval isn’t expected until after the first of the year, she said.
