American Diabetes Association Picks Mullen

BOSTON Interpublic Group’s Mullen in Wenham, Mass., has been awarded a three-year contract to serve as the first lead agency for the American Diabetes Association, the shop said today.

The shop will handle the assignment from both its office here and outpost in Pittsburgh. Mullen’s efforts will support both the ADA’s local field offices through national programming.

Ad spending by the association was about $4 million in each of the last two years, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Larry Hausner, client CEO, said Mullen’s healthcare experience and “passion for our cause” led to the assignment.
