ECD Zucker Decamps to OgilvyOne

NEW YORK New York executive creative director Mat Zucker is leaving the shop to rejoin OgilvyOne.
Zucker (pictured) spent two years at the Omnicom Group digital shop, working on its Mars and British Airways accounts. He recently oversaw the relaunch, which drew praise and brickbats for its use of social media in place of a standard brand microsite.
“I get to reinterpret, maybe even reinvent creative for direct, really modernize it,” said Zucker.
At OgilvyOne, Zucker will serve as ecd in New York, reporting to OgilvyOne managing director Harvey Kipnis.
“We are looking to Mat to help us scale the direct model in the digital world, enabled by the many new technology tools now available to creatives,” Kipnis said in a statement.
The hire is the second major digital creative addition for WPP Group’s Ogilvy this month. Ogilvy North America poached AKQA co-chief creative officer Lars Bastholm to join in the newly created role of chief digital creative officer.
Zucker is returning to OgilvyOne, where he was a group creative director and led the Cisco and Enfamil accounts. He left Ogilvy in 2005 to join R/GA as executive creative director.
