Topin & Associates, a Chicago medical agency, was awarded a campaign for a new product from Darien-based Eichron Technologies that detects bladder cancer. The agency also was named lead agency for Sirius Laboratories, a Vernon Hills-based pharmaceutical company.The National Inventors Hall of Fame, Akron, Ohio, retained L.C. Williams & Associates to develop a national media relations campaign. The Chicago shop will publicize 10 inventors being inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sept. 15.After a multi-agency battle in Boise, Idaho, the Idaho Potato Commission awarded its creative account for its food service division to Schafer Condon Carter in Chicago. KENTUCKYSweco, Florence, a worldwide provider of particle separation and size reduction technology, selected Caudill and Associates, Covington, to provide public relations and product publicity programs.MINNESOTAMSI Insurance named Kerker its lead agency. The Minneapolis shop will develop brand strategies for the insurance company. CNS and Campbell Mithun received an American Marketing Association Effie gold award for their marketing campaign for Breathe Right nasal strips. Dothegood, a new Minneapolis company, selected HartungKemp as its lead agency to develop brand identity and marketing materials.National Geographic chose Penn Garritano Direct Response Marketing, Minneapolis, to help test market and expand the subscription base of Adventure magazine. Geoffrey Carlson Gage, an Excelsior-based agency specializing in advertising and Web development, was named lead agency for MetroMark, Excelsior, an international supplier of lighting, graphic overlays and membrane switches. The agency was also hired to redesign and develop a Web site for Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio, Minneapolis. The agency was chosen by Carlson Lifestyles Living, Excelsior, to handle all electronic branding and advertising efforts.GeigerBevolo recently launched a redesigned Web site for North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. The Minneapolis shop helped develop the site that features "care areas" organized by condition and secondary navigation functions, which allow access to other information such as employment opportunities.Colle+McVoy, Minneapolis, has been retained by The Life Institute for public affairs assistance. The institute is a non-profit organization in Albany, N.Y., dedicated to integrating advanced illness care and end-of-life care. The shop also added AgStar Financial Services, Minneapolis, to its client roster and the Nebraska Pork Producers Association, Lincoln, Neb., to assist them with strategic communications in the state. Colle+McVoy also launched its redesigned Web site, www.collemcvoy.com, which is written entirely in Flash 5 coding.MICHIGANElopak, Livonia, named Brewer Associates Marketing Communications its lead agency. The Livonia shop is a full-service agency and will market the global packaging systems company.Sharp Marketing Associates, Johnson Design Group and Epoch Resources merged to form JSW Group in Grand Rapids. MISSOURIThe Vandiver Group was named lead agency for Regional Business Council, a consortium of business executives. The St. Louis shop also added Astaris LLC, St. Louis, a manufacturer of phosphorus-based products, to its client roster. Callis & Associates was awarded a three-year contract to handle marketing and advertising for the Missouri State Fair. It's the third time the Sedalia-based agency has earned the contract. Hardee's, Rocky Mount, N.C., named Adamson its lead agency for markets in Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky. The St. Louis shop will use the chain's $6 million budget to advertise in those markets.NEBRASKASwanson Russell Associates in Omaha picked up marketing duties for Animal Management, a subsidiary of Schering-Plough Corp. The agency works with several brands in Schering-Plough's animal health division. Global Animal Management is a market data collection and analysis service for business throughout the food production chain.OHIOInnis Maggiore Group acquired TNP Group, a Youngstown marketing agency. The Canfield shop also added TNP's president Clare Kettering Jones as account supervisor.Snell/Weisheimer & Associates, Westerville, acquired Health Process Management in Doylestown, Penn. HPM uses diagnostic and treatment data to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies tailor their marketing efforts.Malone Advertising, Akron, developed a TV spot for Ensure nutritional supplements that support breast cancer awareness. The Arras Group, Cleveland, recently received 17 business marketing awards for its work for such clients as Charter One Bank. Marcus Thomas, Beachwood, landed the advertising business for Alcoa Wheel and Forged Products, a Cleveland-based unit of Alcoa.PENNSYLVANIAHMS Hallmark, Pittsburgh, won several silver Telly awards for four TV commercials for Adelphica Communications, a long-distance phone service provider. The agency also was awarded an assignment by The Hoover Company, North Canton, Ohio, to create a national TV campaign promoting the company's multi-brush scrubbing system in its SteamVac extractors.WisconsinMercury Communication Partners, Brookfield, was hired by Catholic Community Foundation, Milwaukee, to design an identity for the foundation and to assist in establishing a stronger presence in Milwaukee. Design North and Robinson & Maities formed an alliance to help clients manage non-advertising aspects of their brands. The new company is called Innobrand.Blue Horse, Milwaukee, recently bowed a new print and outdoor campaign for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metropolitan Milwaukee. The agency also add CIFA USA, a manufacturer of concrete products, to its client roster.Zizzo Group, Milwaukee, was named to the 2001 Future 50 list for the third consecutive year by the Council of Small Business Executives and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
