The Communications Group, Little Rock, has been awarded a contract to provide a public education program for Arkansas’ Workforce Investment Board and its statewide One-Stop Career Centers.

The Morning News has chosen Mangan Holcomb Rainwater Culpepper, Little Rock, to handle marketing, advertising and public relations. The newspaper is circulated in northwestern Arkansas.

Taylor Mack Advertising, Fayetteville, has been appointed to handle advertising for First Federal Bank of Arkansas, which operates 16 branches in northern Arkansas. The agency will introduce six new television commercials this year.


Sterling Integrated Communications, Tulsa, was among four companies honored nationally by the Better Business Bureau for promoting ethical business standards.

XOR Strategic Creative, Tulsa, has landed the account of AFN Communications, a Tulsa-based provider of high-speed broadband access and data transport in 13 states. The business was awarded following a review.


Insurance company Higginbotham + Associates has hired the Balcom Agency to handle its advertising. Both client and agency are based in Fort Worth. Balcom was also presented with three healthcare advertising awards by Healthcare Marketing Report for its work for Texas Health Resources.

Bates Churchill Public Relations, Houston, was recognized by two industry groups at recent awards banquets. The agency was presented 10 Excalibur awards by the Public Relations Society of America and five Bronze Quill awards by the International Association of Business Communicators. Sister company Bates Churchill Investor Relations was selected to handle financial communications on behalf of energy equipment and services provider Dresser.

Square One Interactive, Dallas, has added the account of homebuilder Centex Corp. to its client roster.
