Red Monkey Ads & Ideas completed a second national radio spot for Dr. Marten’s, USA. The Portland agency also created TV ads for Portland’s Taco Time restaurants that poke fun at the Taco Bell Chihuahua, and provided the creative for three ads for the The Christie School, a rehabilitation school for troubled and abused youth.
JohnsonSheen Advertising, Portland, recently created an outdoor campaign for Ron Tonkin car dealerships that used interactive word search puzzles. The boards went up as untouched puzzles adorned with the Tonkin logo. Parts of the puzzle were solved (with brand names circled) every two weeks until the puzzle was finished.
C. Hoelzle Associates, Irvine, a printer and scanner specialist with business in over 50 countries, assigned its ad account to Szenderski Rohani Worldwide, also in Irvine. The agency won the account in August after a review of four undisclosed shops.
The Young Co. has been assigned ad duties for, a new e-commerce service company for the food industry. The Santa Monica agency will provide a full-service communications program that features logo development, brand recognition and advertising, including a strategic public relations campaign with editorial relations and full trade show support. Capitalized billings are estimated to be $1-2 million.
Media Dimensions, San Diego, added Kelmoore Investments Co., an asset management firm, to its client roster. Media Dimensions will be responsible for creating the Palo Alto-based company’s marketing and product positioning strategies, consumer and trade ads and collateral material development.
Capital Pacific Homes has chosen The Roxburgh Agency, Costa Mesa, to develop a marketing program for its Oceanfront project, a new luxury residential community located on the Palos Verdes peninsula. The agency was also selected by eight new clients to provide advertising and marketing services. Those clients are: Snyder Langston of Southern California; Estrella del Mar Golf and Beach Resort Community; Capital Pacific Homes; the Orange County office of Bloodgood Sharp Buster Architects and Planners; San Clemente-based The Collaborative West; Roddel & Associates of Southern California; The Related Companies of California; and the Balboa Performing Arts Theatre Foundation (a pro bono account).
TH&M Advertising of Tustin has been hired to provide full-service branding, advertising and public relations services for The Covington, a new assisted-living community scheduled to open in 2001 in Aliso Viejo.
TV Media began media tests for an infomercial in Chinese. The shop is promoting “Love Forever,” a six-CD set of Mandarin love songs, released by PolyGram Records. The infomercial from the Irvine-based global direct response company began airing in the U.S. on the International Channel and in select cities on local Chinese broadcast programs in September.
