– CONNECTICUT, Canton, and Carlingswitch, Plainville, named Adams & Knight agency of record. The Avon agency will create trade ads and sales literature, and handle trade show support and public relations for Inkjetwarehouse, an online wholesaler of inkjet cartridges. For Carlingswitch, an electrical parts manufacturer, the shop will advance its brand identity and revitalize its Web site. Adams & Knight also was selected to develop a recruitment campaign to help JDS Uniphase Corp., a communications technology firm in Bloomfield, hire 2,000 new employees.
Decker of Glastonbury was retained by for corporate identity and Web site design. The client, in Mystic and previously known as Stonington Medical Devices, is an Internet-based distributor of instruments for surgeons and other medical professionals.
Atlantic Group, Norwalk, was selected by TransAct Technologies, Wallingford, for marketing communications and branding chores. Atlantic Group will handle advertising, interactive executions and public relations for the company, which develops printers and related products.
Giaccone & Jay Storytellers, Norwalk, was awarded advertising chores by the Crystal Rock Water Co., Watertown. G&J will be responsible for strategy, creative production and media buying.

Community Pharmacies, a division of the Waldron Group, retained Brown Design & Co., Old Port, to design and produce the network’s collateral materials. The first brochure will be distributed to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont pediatricians, OB/GYNs, oncologists and veterinarians. The agency also was retained by FuGEN Technologies of Rockville, Md., to produce marketing materials.
McCabe & Duval, Portland, was tapped for a lead generation campaign by book publisher Courier Cos.

Brodeur Worldwide’s interactive division, Boston, is partnering with Primeon, an e-business solutions firm, to help offline companies move online. Primeon, Burlington, has expertise in more than 80 programming languages, platforms and databases.
Barrett Communications, Cambridge, completed a collateral assignment for Revit Technology, Waltham, a company formerly known as Charles River Software. Revit hired Barrett to create a new logo and corporate identity system. Barrett also crafted marketing materials for FX Concepts, New York, and Availant, Cambridge.
Ciavarra Design, Boston, completed the 1999 annual report for Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge.
Benes Brand Imaging Group, Lexington, was chosen to design the corporate Web site for The Boston client provides communications between public companies and investors via the Internet. Benes also was awarded advertising and visual identity assignments for Excelergy Corp., Cambridge, which offers Web-enabled application and transaction services for the deregulated retail energy industry.
Dickinson Direct launched e-ventory, a Web-based service that enables clients to check their inventory counts online at The system is updated hourly. This spring, the Braintree firm also will offer e-proof, which will allow clients to edit and approve their letter proofs online.
InsideOut Communications, Holliston, won an award from Graphic Design:usa in the logos, trademarks and symbols category for a direct mail, collateral and merchandising program for investment firm Adams, Harkness & Hill’s IT Services Conference.

Smith & Jones Advertising + Marketing, Worcester, was hired by Carolyn’s Gourmet in Concord to produce new packaging for a line of flavored pecans. The shop recently completed a packaging redesign for Hellas International’s imported Greek preserves.
GunnDesign, Boston, completed a merchandising kit for the Westvaco Corp. for the Luxe-Pak show held recently in Monaco.
Sullivan Creative, a design shop that converted to a full-service ad agency a year ago, moved to a bigger office at 9 Galen St., Suite 316, Riverbend Office Park in Watertown. The shop has picked up several new projects: two Web sites and a new business line logo for Pfizer; brand identity and marketing campaign for Bull Information Systems’ Integris division; and brand building, corporate identity and collateral for accounting firm Abrams, Little-Gill, Loberfeld. Other new clients include: MediaMap,, MassBay Community College and MassEnvelopePlus.

Fleming & Roskelly won a platinum Adrian Award at the annual Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International competition for its design of The Wayfarers catalog. The shop also picked up a silver award for the design of the Group Tour Guide catalog for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.
