ILLINOIS Grant/Jacoby in Chicago has launched a campaign for Peoples Energy under the tagline, "Peoples Energy: Energy for you." The campaign includes TV, radio and bus-side ads. The TV and bus-side work features Peoples Energy employees. Wunderman Cato Johnson in Chicago has formed a teleservices department and named Peter Altieri vice president to head it. The department is intended to improve call center operations at the office. The Rosen Group in Chicago has produced an outdoor and radio campaign for Savin 2000, a subsidiary of Ricoh with five branch offices in the Chicago area. Outdoor boards feature an Indy race car moving at "digital speed" to emphasize Savin's digital copying products. Radio spots have a voiceover of a person turning down a high-paying job because the company doesn't use Savin products. Sutter Marketing in Palatine was named agency of record for American Pharmaceutical Partners, Schaumburg, which supplies generic and proprietary injectable pharmaceuticals. Centri Inc., a division of Paragon Data Systems, won a Silver Star award at the Interactive Media Design Review competition for a self-promotional CD-ROM. INDIANA Montgomery Zukerman Davis in Indianapolis won a first-place award at the Adwheel Awards Competition, sponsored by the American Public Transit Association, for a print ad promoting ridership on IndyGo. Bates USA in Indianapolis won a "Batchy" award from the North American State and Provincial Lottery Association for its work on behalf of the Indiana Lottery. The awards are named after Ralph Batch, who championed quality lottery advertising. Bates' winning TV spot was titled "Double Vision" and backed the Hoosier Lottery's Tripler Bonus scratch-off game. NASPL represents 27 state lotteries and all of Canada's provincial games. IOWA Zimmerman, Laurent & Richardson in Des Moines was named agency of record for Lincoln Savings Bank, Reinbeck. ZLR's first task will be to develop a new image and brand identity campaign for the bank, which has branches in six northeast Iowa markets, including Aplington, Allison and Greene. KANSAS Callahan Creek in Lawrence was selected by Hill's Pet Nutrition to develop promotions for the domestic pet channel. Hill's is headquartered in Topeka. The assignment is the latest in Callahan Creek's 11-year relationship with the pet foot marketer. Sullivan Higdon & Sink in Wichita won nine Telly awards, seven of them for work on behalf of the Kansas Health Foundation; one for Fidelity Bank; and one for the Wichita Art Museum. KENTUCKY McCafferty and Co. was named agency of record for Clapp Oldsmobile/Volkswagen, Clarksville, Ind. The Louisville agency's new campaign is set to roll out later this year. MICHIGAN The Berline Group in Bloomfield Hills was hired by Dearborn Federal Credit Union, Dearborn, the state's largest credit union, which serves Ford Motor Co. employees and their families. MINNESOTA Bolin Marketing and Advertising in Minneapolis has created a campaign for ABRA Auto Body & Glass that's a takeoff on the Blues Brothers, using the theme, "Auto body blues." TV spots are presented in the form of music videos. ABRA is based in the Twin Cities, but has expanded to 70 locations, including Atlanta, Denver and Salt Lake City. Snow Communications in Minneapolis is working with four new clients: W.L. Gore & Associates' Speedfilm group, part of the company's electronic packaging and materials division, based in Eau Claire, Wis.; SuperSolutions Corp., Eden Prairie, a provider of relational database management systems; Caribou Lake Software, Bloomington, which provides Java-based products and services for e-commerce applications; and a business-to-business e-commerce company that Snow will name and then position with branding work. The total value of the accounts is $1 million. Jim Bergeson, chief executive officer of Colle & McVoy, Minneapolis, was named president of the International Communications Agency Network and director of the American Association of Advertising Agencies' central region. Martin/Williams in Minneapolis won a grand Ceba at the Creative Excellence in Business Advertising awards for a spot backing 2M Denta'ls line of tooth-whitening products. The ad showed a discolored picket fence being painted white. Hedstrom/Blessing in Minneapolis was recognized for nine of its packaging and brand identity designs in the American Corporate Identity 15 competition. MISSOURI NKH&W in Kansas City was chosen as media buyer for the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau. The bureau conducted a three-month search and contacted 16 shops throughout the Midwest. Two undisclosed finalists developed a "shadow" buy for Indianapolis. The Hughes Group in St. Louis was named agency of record for Integrated Protein Technologies, a unit of Monsanto. IPT uses plants to produce therapeutic proteins used in drugs, vaccines and industrial enzymes. The company considered 10 St. Louis shops in a review before selecting Hughes. OHIO David K. Burnap Electronic Marketing has launched a Web site for Hartzell Propeller. The agency is a division of Dayton-based David K. Burnap Agency. Hartzell's site includes a two-minute video on the company's history, which includes a relationship with aviation pioneer Orville Wright. J. Schmid & Associates in Prairie Village won Best of Show and six golds at the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association's Ambit awards. The top honor went to a catalog J. Schmid created for Cushman, a direct marketer of fruit, based in West Palm Beach, Fla. At the same show, Jerry Cicero of Cicero Graphic Resources in Overland Park was named 1999's direct marketer of the year. Sive/Young & Rubicam in Cincinnati and client Frisch's Restaurants were recognized for the agency's TV and radio campaign at Nation's Restaurant News' 12th Excellence in Advertising Awards. WISCONSIN DuFour Advertising in Sheboygan is working with Haggerty Enterprises, Chicago, which makes and markets Lava brand motion lamps. DuFour plans four-color ads for national publications for the holiday season. The Lava brand is 35 years old next year. Bader Rutter & Associates in Brookfield was named agency of record for Apex Interactive, which hosts, maintains and markets e-commerce sites. The Zizzo Group in Milwaukee was hired by Franklin Energy Services to create a broadcast and print campaign targeting western and southeastern Wisconsin, in addition to the Fox Valley. Franklin provides conservation services to utilities and their customers.
