EASTERN NEW YORK Broadview Associates, an investment banking firm specializing in mergers, acquisitions and advisory services in the information technology field, has retained GCI Group in New York to provide a multinational public relations program. DeVito/Verdi, New York, was named agency for the $8-10 million account of Riviera Beach, Fla.-based Tire Kingdom, a retail chain with 150 outlets located throughout Florida and the Charlotte, N.C., area, following a review. The assignment includes market positioning the stores and a television, radio, print and outdoor advertising campaign. DBA Communications, a management consulting company in Toronto, has formed a strategic affiliation with Bozell Sawyer Miller Group in New York. Separately, U.K. credit card firm Barclaycard has selected BSMG's Charles Barker European unit as its consumer public relations counsel. American Business Press, the magazine trade association headquartered in New York, has designated Bozell Worldwide and BSMG in New York as its advertising and public relations agencies, respectively. MangoSoft Corp., a supplier of PC networking software in Westborough, Mass., has named Welch Nehlen Groome, Garden City, its agency of record. Turk Group, which recently moved into new offices in Hawthorne, has received product assignments from General Physio-therapy, Insecta and Sonali Botanicals. Stein, Rogan + Partners, New York, was appointed general and interactive agency of record for Brilliant Digital Entertain-ment, Woodland Hills, Calif. The shop will handle the launch and ongoing marketing of the client's computer-based Multipath Movies product line. Anda and Scotti in New York has won the creative portion of Play-By-Play Toys & Novelties' $5 million advertising account from incumbent Ziccardi & Partners, following a review. Anda also defeated two other agencies for the San Antonio-based client's business: In-Sync Communi-cations and Posnick & Kolker, both in New York. Anda will handle television and print creative work for both consumer and trade audiences. Play-By-Play's media duties will remain at The Summit Media Group in New York. Two advertising agencies, Lowell/Harrison/Leifer in Rockville Centre and Phillips Miller Speyer & Frost of Amityville, have joined forces to form Harrison Leifer Miller & Speyer at expanded office facilities in Rockville Centre. Consumer Healthworks, a unit of Omnicom in New York, was assigned healthcare advertising projects from four companies: Schering-Plough, Novartis, Apic USA and Jiang Jing Herbs. PepperCom, New York, has won four accounts in competitive shootouts: Eagle Ray Software Systems, Vayu Web, Strategic Decisions Group and Thomas Register. The new business represents some $500,000 in annualized billings, the agency said. CONNECTICUT Lang/Durham & Co. Advertising and Public Relations in West Hartford was retained by Aetna's hospitality division, Foxwoods Resort & Casino, Hastings Hotel & Conference Center and the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau for various communication projects. The agency was also contracted to provide print advertising campaigns, public relations services and trade show support for three divisions of Ensign-Bickford Co. W.J. Deutsch & Sons has awarded the consumer marketing account of Georges Duboeuf Wines to North Castle Partners Advertising in Stamford.
