- ILLINOIS Orland Park-based Esrock Partners has merged with Catalyst Partners of Philadelphia and opened an office in that city. Phase2Media opened a Midwest sales office in Chicago. Tony Janowski was named director, and Mark Hermanson is senior account executive. The Rosen Group was awarded an advertising assignment from Travel 2000. The Chicago shop will handle creative design for travel gear retailer's year 2000 catalog. Dan Sanchez, president of Sanchez Healy in Chicago, has bought out his partner, Dan Healy, to become sole owner of the 10-year-old Hispanic agency. Kobs Gregory Passavant in Chicago has formed a new division, Kobs Strategic Consulting, which will consult in areas including marketing strategies, modeling services and loyalty programs. - IOWA Eleven Farm Credit Services associations in Wisconsin, North Dakota, Minnesota and Missouri hired Meyocks & Priebe Advertising in Des Moines. - MICHIGAN Solomon Friedman Advertising, Bloomfield Hills, was awarded a three-year contract with the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation. Hycorr Machine Corp. selected Stap in Kalamazoo as its agency of record. - MINNESOTA Four of Hedstrom/Blessing's package designs were honored in the 1999 American Graphic Design Awards competition. The Minneapolis shop was recognized for work on Target gingerbread cookies, Target Halloween costumes, Land O'Lakes chocolate milk and 3M Optical Systems computer filters. Periscope, Minneapolis, recently won first, second and third place in the Marketing and Advertising Point of Sale competition, sponsored by the Fiery Foods and Barbecue Industry. The winning pieces were all part of a campaign for Buffalo Wild Wings. TradeMark Communications in Eden Prairie has formed TradeMark Interactive to handle interactive marketing and Web site development. - MISSOURI The Glennon Co., St. Louis, developed a public awareness program that broke in December on behalf of Lutheran Family & Children's Services in St. Louis. Touchwood, a St. Louis-based technology-based communications shop, completed an interactive training program for Trans World Airlines. - OHIO Advanstar Communications has agreed to acquire Gruppe 21 Informations-GmbH in Essen, Germany. The move will expand the Cleveland company's family of business and professional trade show and conference, publication and marketing services. Hensley Segal Rentschler, Cincinnati, received WebAwards for its Hobart Corp. and Forbes2000 Web sites at the Web Marketing Association's annual competition. Lipson Alport Glass & Associates introduced an integrated brand redesign for Hanes Her Way underwear packaging. Backley & Gingrich was named agency of record for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. The Cincinnati shop was also awarded the account of local TV station WB Channel 64. Empower MediaMarketing in Cincinnati has opened an office in Columbus that will be headed by Chris Hackett, who was promoted to vice president. - WISCONSIN L. Quillin & Associates was hired by River Steel, an international supplier of steel fabricated products. The La Crosse agency is revamping the company's corporate image and promoting a new product for the coil steel industry. LQA was also recently named agency of record by The City Brewery for its new La Crosse Lager and La Crosse Light brands. The International Association of Exposition Management Services selected Nelson Marketing, Oshkosh, to handle promotional marketing. IAEM, based in Dallas, chose Nelson after a review.
