Airwave Production Group in Birmingham has changed its name to Airwave Recording Studio. The business has narrowed its focus to commercial audio production, custom music and album projects. A FLORIDA Daroff Design of Philadelphia has chosen Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown as its public relations agency of record. The Orlando agency has also formed Leading Marketing Services, a joint venture with Leading Hotels of the World in New York. The new entity will provide marketing, communications and sales promotion services for the Leading Hotels brand and selected properties in the chain's portfolio. WestShore Plaza, a Tampa retail complex, has retained Parag + Company, also in Tampa, as its advertising agency. Sunrise Waste Service of Southlake, Texas, has picked Stuart's Osprey Marketing Group to handle its corporate and community relations programs. Hallmark/Tassone was hired by Universal Studios in Orlando to promote December holiday and millennium galas at its amusement park. The Orlando agency has also added Vacation Resorts International, which manages properties in 16 states from Laguna Hills, Calif., to its account list. KSC Public Relations has become agency of record for Kantor Eye Institute & Laser Center. Both firms are located in Sarasota. J.R. Hoffman Agency, Marketing Communications in Jacksonville won a Communicator Award of Excellence for a radio spot it created for First Guaranty Bank & Trust Company, also of Jacksonville. In the ad, a customer enters a bank to find all the tellers have been replaced by talking machines. A GEORGIA Richard Riley, a principal at Sawyer Riley Compton in Atlanta, has been appointed chairman of the city's Global Health Action, a not-for-profit group. Doppler Studios in Atlanta has installed a hard disk audio system that enables storage and instant retrieval of its entire collection of sound effects. Denmark Advertising & Public Relations of Atlanta received nine OBIEs at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association's Professional Awards. Top honors included five golds for its work with BridgeMill and one gold each for Wild Timber and Hamilton Mill. Adair-Greene Healthcare Communications will help introduce Klaut, an over-the-counter head lice treatment from Kiel Pharmaceuticals. The Atlanta agency will also help launch CIBA Vision's new glaucoma drug, Rescula. Infinitee in Atlanta has acquired two accounts: Pacific View Ventura, a shopping mall in Ventura, Calif.; and Boulder Crossroads, a retail center in Boulder, Colo. The agency has also committed to a pro bono effort on behalf of Aid Atlanta, which is seeking corporate sponsorships for its city assistance program. Internet specialist iXL won the 1999 IPO e-ward of the Technology Association of Georgia. The honor recognizes iXL's June IPO for having the greatest impact in Georgia's business community. The Atlanta agency also tallied three silver and two merit awards at ShowSouth. Point B has redesigned First Data Corp.'s employee magazine, One Focus. The agency and client are both located in Atlanta. Austin Kelley Advertising in Atlanta earned four awards at ShowSouth. A print campaign for Barn Fly western shirts won a gold. A MARYLAND Sass Communications in Annapolis has won five accounts, totaling $1.5 million in billings. The new clients are: AI Solutions, a software developer in Lanham; Alden Yachts in Portsmouth, R.I.; Spar Associates, an Annapolis software supplier and engineering consultant for the shipbuilding industry; Delmag Venture, a venture capital firm in Annapolis; and Baltimore's Polk Audio, which hired Sass to market a new line of computer multimedia speaker systems. The shop is also creating television ads for Annapolis-based pyacht.com, an e-tailer of sailing equipment. The Reeves Agency in Baltimore has added six new accounts, totaling nearly $12 million in billings. The national and regional accounts are the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, Aetna U.S. Healthcare, Endzone Partners, the Environmental Protection Agency, the General Services Administration and PermaLean. A VIRGINIA The Meridian Group has acquired three new advertising accounts with total billings of $2.5 million. The Virginia Beach shop was named agency of record for Bay Creek Development at Cape Charles, a golf community on the state's eastern shore; Checkered Flag Motor Car Company, an automobile dealership located in Virginia Beach; and T-Direct, a travel technology application service based in Reston. Richmond's Adcenter had two ads created by its students named among the 10 best of the decade by The One Club for Art and Copy.
