New York Arnell Group Brand Consulting, New York, was tapped to handle brand development and marketing communications duties for New York Studios. The client has signed a contract to develop a film and television production studio on a 15-acre site at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Media Logic, Albany, received the Mark of Excellence Award from the American Marketing Association for its launch campaign for Time Warner Cable's "Road Runner" high-speed online service. Projects for three other clients were finalists in the competition: A.O. Fox/FoxCare Network, Albany Academy for Girls and Albank. Welch Nehlen Groome, Garden City, was named agency of record by Windows NT Magazine. The agency specializes in Web marketing and service to high-tech companies. The One Show, New York, has set Jan. 29 as the deadline for entries to its 1999 contest. Sea Lion Productions, New York, created a TV spot for the new United Fishing Association that features a handful of sport-fishing stars, including Edward "Spider" Andresen and Bernard "Lefty" Kreh. The 30-second spot, which broke Nov. 21 on ESPN, begins with a shot of a dozen fishermen on a rocky coast and ends with the camera pulling away from a huge lake. In between are clips of the sport fishermen superimposed on an ocean backdrop. The ad, which carries no tagline, features copy explaining the purpose of the new association, which seeks to attract both fresh- and salt-water anglers: "It's about fishing, it's about protecting our resources and it's about time." Mindy Rosengarten, senior group creative director at Avrett, Free & Ginsberg, received the Advertising Council's 10th annual G.D. Crain Jr. Award for outstanding volunteerism in advertising at the group's 45th annual Public Service Award Dinner on Nov. 18. The award recognized Rosengarten's work on the Ad Council's anti-discrimination campaign for the Leadership Conference Education Fund and the President's Initiative on Race while at Griffin Bacal. Also honored was John Pepper, CEO of Procter & Gamble, who received the Distinguished Public Service Award for his advocacy of education and community service issues. Entertainment brand agency Lee Hunt Associates has designed NBC's campaign for this season. The nine-spot series uses the theme "Runaway Colors" and features the six hues of the NBC peacock turning into liquids, smoke or human figures. New York's Bogen PR, a public relations firm for high-tech and new media clients, and LPNY Think, a corporate identity design firm, have formed a strategic partnership to provide clients with both online and traditional design and development. New Jersey At the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association's 24th annual Jasper Awards, Lambertville-based Oxford Communications earned four gold and two silver trophies. The agency was recognized for work for Sesame Place and Jeremy's MicroBatch Ice Cream. It was also honored for excellence in writing, feature story for a question-and-answer article on online public relations which appeared in Builder magazine. Creative Marketing Alliance, Princeton Junction, won five Jaspers in the radio and television advertising, print material, newspaper insert, sales or product kit and single-piece direct mail categories. Ricci Associates, Cherry Hill, was tapped by several companies for design and marketing duties. The agency will design labels for a new soup from the Bookbinder's food division and corporate literature for Vincent Giordano Foods. The agency was also retained by Star Realtors and the West Bergen County Association of Realtors. Horizon Communications, East Hanover, has won the advertising account of Schwarz Pharma in Milwaukee. The agency will create advertising for Verelan PM. Pennsylvania LevLane Advertising and Public Relations, Bala Cynwyd, has earned first place in the 1997 American Business Communicators' annual report competition for its work for client DecisionOne Corp.
