Agencies Reply to Beech-Nut RFP

NEW YORK–Beech-Nut is searching for an agency to handle all aspects of marketing for its baby-food products, sources said. Billings are estimated at $10-15 million. Agencies in the Midwest and on the East Coast have replied to an RFP that was circulated by Claggett Creative Consulting, a St. Louis consultancy that is managing the search. The RFP indicates that the client is looking for a mixture of direct marketing, promotions, print ads and interactive ads, with more than a third of the budget in direct. Based on the submissions, the St. Louis client will cut to a shorter list of agencies that will be visited in late March. That list will be further cut to a handful of finalists, which will make final presentations in mid-May, according to the RFP. The client hopes to select an agency by end of May.
