A&G Taps Industry Vet to Drive Growth

BOSTON Allen & Gerritsen has hired industry veteran Tom Cunningham as vp, business development, a new role at the Watertown, Mass., shop that ranks among New England’s largest independent players.

“More than a specific category or well-known brand, we want partners and clients that have the desire to explore new areas and ideas,” said Cunningham of his approach to building new business.

Andrew Graff, president and CEO of A&G, said Cunningham represents “the next generation of leadership” at the agency.

Cunningham most recently had been vp, gm of the custom publishing division of Pohly Co. in Boston. He has also held posts at IPG’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and independent Connelly Partners, both ad shops here.

A&G handles a mix of consumer and business clients such as the Boston Celtics, MFS Investment Management, Waters Corp. and 99 Restaurants. Aptius Education, a publishing company that provides materials for career advancement, and Cybex, a maker of exercise equipment, are recent additions to the roster.
