You can have your flambe and eat it, too. That’s what creatives from three prominent agencies seem to be demonstrating as they create ads a la carte through four-month-old freelance enterprise The Ad Hut. The latest efforts by Wieden & Kennedy/Portland copywriter Jean Rhode; Chiat/Day, N.Y. art director Craig Tanimoto, and Fallon McElligott/Minneapolis copywriter Doug De Grood, working with L.A. director Charles Ashira, Ashira Associates, is for the Nugget in Reno, Nev. In one spot, an elderly couple’s flambe blows up in their faces. Tagline, ‘When choosing a hotel in Reno, don’t gamble, stay at the Nugget.’
