More than 1,200 people attended The Ad Council’s Public Service Award Dinner, held Nov. 17 at The Waldorf-Astoria in New York. The gala dinner, which honored General Motors Corp. chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner Jr., was hosted by Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer and served as a tribute to the industries and individuals who support the Ad Council and its PSA campaigns. Other honorees included McCann Erickson New York, which won the Ad Council’s Gold Bell for Creative Excellence for creating the council’s Obesity Prevention campaign; and Foote Cone & Belding Southern California, which won the Ad Council’s Chairman’s Award for 60 years of donating its time and talent to the council.
