AC&R Co-Founder Rose, 77, Dies

Stephen Rose, co-founder and former CEO of AC&R Advertising in New York, died Sept. 30 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He was 77. Rose partnered with Alvin Chereskin to found AC&R in 1966, and Bates acquired the company in 1968. Among AC&R’s clients were Seiko and Foot Locker. Rose was the shop’s CEO from 1972 through his retirement in 1991. His wife, Margitta; two sons, John and Daniel; and four grandchildren survive him. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m.
