JRB Co., Akron, Ohio, has named Nelson & Schmidt Marketing Communications, Milwaukee, its public relations agency of record.
Cunningham & Welch Design Group, Madison, has been selected by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra to create print promotional materials for the 10th anniversary of the ‘Concerts on the Square’ program.
McGlinchey & Associates, Brookfield, will handle advertising and pr for Rexcon, a division of Rose Industries.
Henke & Associates, Cedarburg, was named agency of record for two new clients: Koehler Insurance and Weiss Plumbing, both Cedarburg.
Advertising, Boelter & Lincoln, Milwaukee, will handle advertising for Caverns of Sonora, a tourism attraction in Sonora, Texas.
P&S Group, Milwaukee, was named agency for two new clients: TEP Systems, Bloomington, Minn., a manufacturer of interactive video and audio merchandising and training systems; and Superior of Ohio, Lima, a builder of specialty vehicles.
PENNSYLVANIA
Dudreck, De Paul, Ficco and Morgan, Pittsburgh, has added four clients: Midas Muffler & Brake Shops, for a national ‘Project Baby Safe’ car-seat usage program; SciCan, for trade advertising for its dental products; Pyrotecnico, for public relations for its fireworks products; and Cultural Turf Technologies, for introduction of the Greenroller roller for golf greens.
OHIO
Brubaker Public Relations, Hudson, has added four new clients: Gamekeepers Big City Grille; Continental Office Furniture; The Selling Edge and Voice-Pro.
GC Edwards & Associates, Huron, has acquired the 13 public relations accounts previously handled by Collins Communications, Westlake, and GW Collins & Associates, Canton. Geoffrey W. Collins, president of the two agencies acquired, will act as a consultant to GC Edwards & Associates for one year.
Eastway Supplies, Columbus, has selected Fekete & Co., Columbus, to handle an incentive program targeting plumbers in central Ohio.
Wyse Advertising, Cleveland, has been selected agency of record for Geon Co., Cleveland, a leading manufacturer of vinyl and engineered polymers. The assignment includes trade ads, direct marketing and collateral for Geon, formerly a division of BF Goodrich.
Meldrum & Fewsmith Yellow Pages, Cleveland, will handle Yellow Pages advertising for OfficeMax in 39 states. The agency also will coordinate integration of Yellow Pages ads between OfficeMax and the 104-store BizMart chain it recently acquired.
Taverner & Taverner, Dayton, will create a communications/marketing program for AmeriFirst Bank, Cincinnati, in 14 markets in southwestern Ohio. The bank, created in March through consolidation of Home Federal Savings, Xenia, and Apollo Savings, Cincinnati, is a unit of MidAm Inc.
MISSOURI
Dorf & Stanton Communications, St. Louis, will provide public relations support for the Bussmann division of Cooper Industries, a manufacturer of electrical fuses. The assignment includes a summer promotion. Separately, it has been selected by the State of Missouri Health Department to coordinate development of the second edition of the Baby Your Baby coupon book, which offers incentives to women seeking prenatal care.
Weintraub & Associates, St. Louis, will handle all advertising for the Chris Auffenberg Dealerships, including creative and media placement.
MINNESOTA
Schmitt & Sloan Advertising, Minneapolis, has added medical Documenting Systems, St. Paul, a marketer of software for physicians; and Medi-Jector Corp., Minneapolis, a manufacturer of jet-injection insulin delivery devices, to its client roster.
The United Conservation Alliance has named Baxter Advertising & Public Relations, Minneapolis, its pro bono advertising agency. The organization is working to increase public acceptance of hunting and fishing as responsible wildlife management strategies.
MICHIGAN
Vehicle Maintenance Council, Port Clinton, Ohio, has assigned its advertising to J. Walter Thompson/Detroit. Work for the council, which represents automotive aftermarket parts and service companies, will include strategic planning, creative and media placement for national consumer and trade advertising.
Stap & Co., Kalamazoo, has been chosen agency for Gull Lake View Golf Club.
ILLINOIS
Marion Merrell Dow, Kansas City, Mo., has assigned advertising responsibility for an undisclosed new drug to McCann Healthcare, Chicago.
Promotional Marketing, Chicago, has added two clients: Baskin-Robbins, for which it will create in-store merchandising kits; and G. Heileman Brewing Co., for which it will handle event-marketing for Lone Star beer in Texas and Special Export/Weinhard’s in the Midwest and Northwest.
Bender, Browning, Dolby & Sanderson Public Relations, Chicago, has added USG Interiors to its client list.
OmniComm Marketing Group, Naperville, will handle public relations assignments for two local builders, Krughoff Co. and Springwood Builders.
Shape Electronics, Lombard, has selected Sullivan Communications Group, Mount Prospect, for marketing programs, including advertising, public relations, promotion and distributor support.
